A Real Life Look On The Red Carpet: Jennifer Aniston’s Cozy Style Trick
Covering up for evening and still looking chic is not always easy. Your ratty old pashmina? They’re selling them on the street in Chinatown, two for $5, so I think it’s safe to call that trend over. A fur stole? Too politically incorrect. Instead I’ve been turning to my tailored black blazer over and over again, and I recently saw Jennifer Aniston doing the same…
How many times do you see a starlet looking all pretty and perfect on the red carpet and think, “Of course she looks perfect, her feet don’t hurt because a driver took from door to door, and sure.
But Jennifer Aniston was on the red carpet for the UK premiere of Marley & Me this week and I found it so totally refreshing to see her wearing something real, using a style trick I myself have employed many, many times.
She still looks totally chic and put together and pretty, but also…warm! As in, “I may be uber-famous, but I still need to cover up my amazing body sometimes!”
Remember I told you guys a few weeks ago that a tailored black blazer over a cocktail dress has become my go-to going out outfit? Apparently the look works for Jennifer too, and I’m so happy to see her wearing it on the red carpet.
It’s a nice little reminder that every one of us faces our own style challenges and the most clever among us find chic ways to deal with them–even the former Mrs. Brad Pitt
What do you guys think of Jen’s red carpet cover-up? Are you loving it like I am? Do you give her props for being photographed in her real look, rather than insisting on looking picture perfect and freezing half to death? And have you tried out the blazer-over-cocktail-dress look yet? Share!
